I am not politically correct but believe in common sense and good manners.

I am well read, I write, sing (badly) but never in public.

I have passion for life, good company and always look on the bright side...

I am told that I am a good father but would hope to be better than just good.

I try to be teachable and am ready and willing to listen to and to learn from others - that, however, does not make me a pushover in a discussion and I will defend my corner with passion (must be the highland blood...).

this all sounds like a airport departure lounge little self help book - oh yes... I detest filling in forms - if you have made it this far well done - frankly prefer to talk and avoid box ticking...

I am sociable and enjoy cinema, theatre, the arts, the country, striding purposefully against a strong wind or strolling along the sand in he tropics, restaurants and particularly dinner parties with close friends and good wine, funny, intelligent conversations that continue through the night. not necessarily high brow but never dull and mundane.

I am well travelled, have lived abroad and visited many places for work and pleasure, but still have a desire to travel and make fresh discoveries.

I embrace life and try to see the best in people and situations I encounter. I wake with a smile.

whilst I am not a gym fanatic, I am fit with no excess flab and promise myself repeatedly that I will in fact go to the gym to ensure i stay fit...

I enjoy tennis, golf, swimming, walking and used to play rugby and cricket.

oh and I play a mean game backgammon
